About DART's Pet Adoption Fees

If someone is either unwilling or financially unable to afford the reasonable adoption fee, then it is in the best interest of boththe pet and person not to proceed with the adoption process.

Puppies, kittens & pure breed pets generate the most interest and have the greatest likelihood of being adopted therefore, their adoption fees are market based. Older and “special needs” pets are much more challenging to place and their fees are more incentive based. Adoption fees only help defray the cost of vetting and do not come close to covering all expenses including food, housing and time needed to find new forever homes for the many waiting for their chance at a real life. As volunteers, we devote our personal resources, energy and love. We appreciate your support and tax-deductible contributions to continue these efforts.
