Sponsor a pet

Introduction

We frequently have homeless, abandoned or owner surrendered animals that have treatable injuries or diseases. They are in need of special veterinary care and rehabilitation prior to their becoming adoptable.  By becoming a sponsor, your tax-deductible contributions will help defray the cost of these expenses and provide them with a new chance at life.

You will receive updates on your sponsored pet’s progress, a Tax-deductible Donation receipt and your name listed on our Animal Angel Appreciation Page.

Forrest and Gump

These handsome dogs were discovered having been dropped off at a dead end street. Their owner apparently had at least some sense of concern as an open bag of inexpensive dog food was left dumped in the road. It was a good thing they were found by one of our dedicated DART volunteers who willingly fostered them temporarily. The bad thing, at their initial vet check-up both tested positive for Heartworms, a potentially deadly condition. Heartworms are very affordable and simple to prevent yet very intensive and expensive to treat.

Sadly, given the current economic conditions, we are finding more and more situations of pet owners not being able to provide preventive or even basic care and having to relinquish their animals. The resulting vet expenses for just these two dogs are over forrest - dog up for adoption$600 each. Please help support our efforts to save special pets like these by contributing to this cause.

He's been treated for heartworms and now has a clean bill of health and ready to find his new forever home.
